Metadata

Written by Nicole Saidai

Metadata makes policies findable. Every health plan organizes policies differently—by specialty, line of business, body system, authorization type, or dozens of other attributes. Policy Studio will support configurable metadata fields so you can tag policies with the attributes your teams actually use to search and filter.

Common metadata categories

Health plan attributes such as lines of business (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid), policy source (internal, CMS, licensed content), and policy type (medical necessity, experimental/investigational).

Clinical categorization including specialty taxonomies (Musculoskeletal, Cardiology, Radiology), body area or system, and authorization category.

Operational tracking for policy lifecycle management—creation date, effective date, committee review date, and next review date.

Clinical identifiers such as CPT codes, HCPCS codes, and ICD-10 diagnosis codes.

The goal is to let you define dropdown values based on how your organization categorizes care, enabling or disabling fields as needed.
